Soma was formed in 2006. The aim was to integrate the ancient art of Belly Dancing into the present, fusing it with more modern, contemporary elements while keeping the essence of the dance. The result is a dynamic, innovative style, with beautiful costuming, mesmerising moves and an ensemble of amazing musicians and professional performers to keep you entertained.

Soma Performance Bellydance Troupe has travelled both nationally and internationally to dance at prestigeous events.

Immediately signing up with Soma her journey into the tribal world began and she has never looked back.  She started training as a professional teacher mid 2008, aspiring to share this beautiful art form with all who wish to learn. Ghoezayma also has a certificate in Make-up artistry.
Nix Spurdens
Nix discovered Tribal Fusion in Brighton, UK in 2007 under amazing Belgian teacher and professional performer Hilde Cannoodt. Regularly making use of her UK privelege and access to touring European and American dancers, Nix apprenticed as a teacher under Hilde dance school in 2009. Nix's anatomy safety and yoga conditioning fascination is accredited to her original 2002 Cape Town Middle Eastern Dance Teachers, Julia Nowicki & Natasha Wells. Aug 2009 Nix obtained her Fat Chance Bellydance Dance (FCBD) ATS GS & Teacher Training certificates in Finland, with Carolena Nerricio (FCBD) and Megha Gavin (Deyvani Dance Company). In 2010 she had the opportunity in Belgium to learn the latest official Modern ATS vocabulary from lovely Australian Devi Mamak and obtained ATS Teacher Training II and FCBD Sister Studio status in 2011. Performance privileges include support acts alongside truly inspirational instructors and dancers: Unmata, The Uzume, Mira Betz, Olivia Kissel of Zafira, Samantha Emmanuel, Donna Mejia and Moirai.
